How to Survive Thanksgiving Break Without Failing Your UW Finals Week

TL;DR
The paradox: You need a break, but finals are in 10 days. Here is how to balance family time with the looming threat of Chemistry finals.

At semester schools, Thanksgiving is a celebration. At Quarter schools (like UW), Thanksgiving is merely a "study break" before the execution.

The "2-Hour Rule"

Wake up at 8 AM. Study until 10 AM. Then stop.

If you do 2 hours of focused "Active Recall" via NoteNest quizzes every morning, you can spend the rest of the day watching football and eating pie guilt-free. If you try to study "all day," you will actually study "zero minutes" and feel guilty the whole time.

Set Boundaries

"Grandma, I love you, but I have a CHEM 152 final that determines if I get into Med School. I need until noon." They will understand.
