The Ultimate Digital Organization Guide for Disorganized UW Undergrads

TL;DR
If your desktop is full of 'Screenshot 2025...' and your Canvas is a mess, you need this guide before midterms hit.

We have all seen that student in the library: 50 Chrome tabs open, panic in their eyes, searching for a PDF from Week 2. Don't be that student.

The "Quarter System" Chaos

UW's quarter system (10 weeks) is unforgiving. If you lose track of your files in Week 3, you are dead in Week 5. You don't have time to reorganize later.

One Inbox, One Truth

Syllabus? NoteNest. Lecture recording? NoteNest. Canvas discussion post? Copy it to NoteNest.

Why? Because when you study for the final, you want ONE search bar that searches everything. You don't want to check Canvas Files, Google Drive, and your Downloads folder.

The Sunday Reset

Every Sunday evening, go to a cafe on The Ave (Cafe Allegro is a classic). Spend 15 minutes archiving the previous week's materials. If you don't need it for the final, archive it. Keep your digital workspace clean.
